Workshop proceedings: Wildlife movement and migration in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

Private and tribal lands conservation across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem has recently been buoyed by an unprecedented influx of federal funding and support. This winter, the Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee hosted a workshop in partnership with the Beyond Yellowstone Living Lab to help increase awareness and effectiveness of these new opportunities to conserve lands important for migratory animals like pronghorn, deer, and elk.

Workshop attendees heard from top wildlife ecologists; senior leaders in the US Departments of Agriculture and the Interior; managers of federal and state wildlife and conservation programs; and active conservation practitioners in the region. A report authored by Beyond Yellowstone research coordinator Kristin Barker summarizes the workshop proceedings and key takeaways.
